//welcome This is where everything comes together. Some music is written for money and some for free, but here that's not the point. This is where I show you what I've done and what I can do. This version of me was not created simply with reason, but with experience. This is version303.
//mission Whether it be a performance, album, presentation, documentary, radio or TV ad, short film or even a full length feature, I can be of assistance. About 10 years ago, my uncle who works in LA as an artist taught me about "the golden triangle". For those of you who aren't already familiar with the concept: you have a product. You'll need work done quickly, cheaply and done well...but you can only pick 2 of those options. If you want it done well and at a low cost, it'll take some time. If you want it done quickly and at a low cost, it won't be that great. If you want it done quickly and done well...it'll cost you. There's nothing like the feeling you get when you hit a deadline. I like knowing that money was spent effeciently. It's great to able to listen to my work 10 years later and still say "That sounds great!" If you can imagine what you want to hear, then you're not so far from being able to do it yourself. My job, is to give you more than you can imagine. A great product is expected, however, I find that more and more clients call back with more projects...when you exceed their expectations. My mission is to leave the client speechless. A lot of people can write great music and/or deliver an explosive mix, but that's not enough. I like to think that a director's silent moment of "awwww" says more than the typical "good job". Sometimes, silence does infact speak louder than words.
//services Different projects require different skills. Some think that it is better to know a lot about one thing whereas others believe it is better to know a bit about many subjects. In all honesty, I don't really care which philosophy other people subscribe to; I like to know a lot about a lot of things. There is no law of the land that says that you can't be skillful in various areas of work. Knowing how to do a variety of jobs simply leaves me open to more opportunity, and enriches my growth. Here is a list of ways I can pose as a benefit to your project. :: score composition/jingles etc. exclusive / non-exclusive :: voice over various accents :: mixing music / audio :: post production editing music / audio :: dubbing/adr :: foley :: english translation lyrics / scripts :: live technician/engineer club / theatre / conference :: DJ commercial / hip hop / electro
//faq's These are answers to common questions. :: How fast can you get it done? As fast as you need it, within reason of course. :: What quality are we talking about here? I give only the best. :: How much do you charge? That's project based. :: We no speak English very good. No problem. Hablo español, e parlo anche l'italiano. :: If the project requires you to travel, can you? Not a problem. I have a US and EU passport.
//about Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, I grew up in an interesting multi cultural family. Due to being the son of an American software engineer in the oil business and an Italian mother, we moved around between Europe and Asia and eventually ended up in the USA. I was only a teenager and had already lived on 3 continents. Aside from the details, most people whose parents worked for Shell can share a similar story. I began playing the drums to Led Zeppelin and then furthered my studies of music with the instrument formally. Growing up, I would wake up to the music of Enya, Peter Gabriel, Philip Glass and many others that my dad deamed worthy. Then, one day he threw a VHS in the VCR called "Beyond the Mind's Eye". Jan Hammer's work was what inspired me to eventually start writing music for films. The short version from that point is: after high school in Texas, I moved around between Italy, Spain, Ireland and Sweden. After studying audio engineering at the SAE Institute, my career began with a project that called for orchestral music mixed with intricate motion and ambience for the luxurious Bang & Olufsen's line of home theatre products. Over the years, I've become the one that writes the music, then plays and records the various instruments it consists of, and the one that finally mixes it. This has obviously simplified things during production. As far as the work that followed B&O, if my CV is requested, I'll gladly email it to you. I currently reside in Milan and work as a freelance sound engineer and music composer.
//projects :: 17Kings This is a solo project that allows me to produce what ever I want. Because the 17Kings brand isn't tied to any publisher, I have complete control over the repetoire, evolution, and personal/commercial use of the music. If I had to categorize the music, I would say electronica/rock/orchestral. You can find more info about the project and download the music at www.17kings.com :: De Drones This is a project where I get to jam with others. Along with Aldo Cannarella at the guitar and lead vocals and Ivan Vagnasi at the bass, I take the role of producer, drummer and backup vocals. I've produced one album with the band which will soon be available for download.

//contact A website can only say so much. I always encourage clients to get in touch because some issues are better addressed in person (or at least over a phone call). If you have any questions or proposals, please feel free to contact me at any time using the contact info below. Technology is remarkable if it's taken advantage of in the right way. Having done so, I've been able to resolve many clients' budget issues simply by reducing my own travel expenses. :: name alex harris :: email info@version303.com :: mobile +39 349 816 5539 :: skype alex19harris
